Seen a lot of quads on back of utes, all dressed up in hunting gear at turangi z petrtol station.. Is there some doc land near by with good access for the bikes/hunting.

Tong forrest.
They are a bloody nuisance.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it illegal to take them on doc land for private citizens? Or are there certain blocks where they allow it?
I wonder if there is any way of getting a quad up tahr hunting round the Havlock, haha would be so easy then haha,
In some of the areas the deer are used to the sound of the quads and if you are watching a deer on a clearing from your quad you are better off leaving it running.
A lot of areas around there have tracks for quads that go for miles but you still have to park and go for a walk.
No different on riding your Quad into a area vs driving your 4x4 up a river system .
Make sure you take a map,GPS and compass with you as some areas are quite confusing and beware of river crossings as does not take much to be swept away.
Love walking my gun
Get an extra muffler welded on across the back makes them a bit quieter
They piss me off. Ive had a few hunts spoiled because of them. in areas like the kaimais they have made a hell of a mess.
Far as I know doc allows quad access in a lot of areas. N no I don't spotlight hoon around and rubbish n shit lying around. A quad tome is the same as a chopper , 4wd , horse, motorbike, shankspony . It's just a means of access .

They might be army boys?
When I was in Waiberia there was a dude from the camp filling up his quad for a hunt down at the Waiouru service station almost every night. Can hunt the training area on quads...with spotlights....
Pureora is a great example of the above.
I've watched deer carry on feeding totally ignoring the sound of distant quads and vehicles. The guys who built the new cycle track regularly spotted animals wandering around barely acknowledging the machinery they were operating. It's what they get used to I guess.
