    Quick question

.308 135 hollow point Speers at 2900 fps All good for Reds say neck or worst case shoulder heart lung shot ?
Made by Belmont and very low recoil but heavy enough ?? Anyone used them ? Have heavier but came across these and thinking of maybe trying them out . Accurate gun.

    Cheers Happy

I'd keep away from hollow point .308 inclined to blow up .
I like 125gr sierra pro hunter in .308 @2900fps ,shoulder is fine with them
Gun control means using both hands

    I have used em happy.
They will do the job but quite explosive. Go neck or behind shoulder up close.
This one was recovered from just under the skin after penetrating both shoulders of a yearling red at 220y , engine room was annihilated.

What VC said . I think a bit lighter & 3-400 fps faster works just fine .
Factory ammo doing around 2,600 down range 400m is under 2k ,not enough wack in my opinion .

Because people are far too attached to fps.

Higher BC, better retention of energy, more predictable wind drift & more penetration etc etc. What's not to love?

Yep good.... Plus 400 with a slippery frangible projectile like a amax berger etc.

    Had a play

Couple hours sighting and adjusting few guns.

Tried the 130s in 308. The reasonable three holes is the 165 hand loads we made for it.
The flyer is the out of the box 130 Belmont speer hollow point. Low and to the right.
All close enough though I thought? (100 Meter target.)

Next target 200 Meters with the 300 Win Mag.

Next target Midget at 200 Meters with his R5 (New gun getting developed ) 2nd sight in at 200 showing off I thought..

Probably our best sight in ever, zero wind and everything fell in to place. I was pretty pleased with mine straight out of the safe with good results.
30calterry made an awesome job of his new toy as well. Mates young fella enjoyed a mag through Terrys AR. So good little arvo.
Got my .17 hitting a 25 mm disc every shot effortless at 100 mtrs. It got a good tune up
