quick question
well today I took my dog for possums and just parked of the road walked 50m and stumbled onto a dead pig in the creak. about 50lb, had a quick look over and no obvious dog marks or bullet holes, hadn't been dead long maybe a few days but the way it was lieing down kinda looked liked it had gone to get a drink and just sat down and carked it. any ideas what might cause this to happen? no human sign or dog sign around and the pig looked healthy

Gut it and do a bush autopsy...

Some poisons cause the animal to develop a thirst.

Keep ur dog outa there for a while incase its poison

I would be guessing some kind of poison

Too much "Rohypnol" ? :x_x:

Pneumonia is a possibility. would of thought if it was tb or something like that it would be in obviously poor condition.

ive asked if theres poison there and no one is doing any control there. the pig looked to fat and healthy , ill do some investigating because they may have poisoned the forest over the back. got 8 healthy possums no signs of sick ones so its strange

Just like us and all animals sometimes even good healthy animals just die:thumbsup:
Being at the water does tend to make me think poison.

Might of been chased by dogs all day. Pigs can over heat pretty fast and die as they can't sweat. Mine do it on the farm if they are stressed and can't wallow

So much for the old sweating like a pig saying then .
