Close-up of Neckshots spot (top right) with a yearling out. The small grassy faces on these slips are often grazed during the day.

I don’t think that we should try to guess where these exact spots are, unless the poster says their location.

But I’m happy to give the GPS co-ords of the Ruahine pic I posted. Its within an hour of the Rangi hut. But it was this time last year, so I’m picking that deer will be gone by now.

Because the only things of any interest 25 km east of the Ruahines are the Ormondville, Wimbledon and Weber pubs.

Yes to true nothing but dry hills and sheep cockys out east.I personaly don't think anyone owns a spot in the Ruahines, Im a ranger I never hunt one spot there weather I have good days or bad ill always hunt somewere new. There is so much ground to hunt from the Tamaki carpark south to Coppermine!.Towards the end of this year im going to try further north up to howlets and Daphne on foot which will be exciting.
