Just got back from Taupo was a pretty wet day,was good in the running boar range as its covered but only goes to 50mtrs, now my question is:
If I get say 1/4inch high at 50mtrs what will it b at 100,200,300?
I can't b too far off because I was putting holes in the bottom of a small V can at 50mtrs haha bit of fun before coming home
The answer to that will depend on a lot of factors such as the range distance the rifle is zeroed at, the BC of the projectile, the speed it is travelling, etc. There are plenty of gurus on here (I am not one of them) so give them the data and they will have a ball telling you.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
Rule 1: Treat every firearm as loaded
Rule 2: Always point firearms in a safe direction
Rule 3: Load a firearm only when ready to fire
Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt
Rule 5: Check your firing zone
Rule 6: Store firearms and ammunition safely
Rule 7: Avoid alcohol and drugs when handling firearms
Using the calculater in this link Handloads.Com Ballistic Calculator it puts you zeroed at 150 and 6inch low at 300. That was just with rough figures .
Try it , its the easiest one too use but don't forget too calculate BC and scope height.
so back at range yesterday and was shooting bang on the mark at 50 metres then went to 100 metres and still bang on the mark (the mark being an inch square)so i assume thats good enough haha
Rough maths would say 1/2 at 1oo m etc but you really need to shoot at that range.
what load/caliber?
