Reaching out: Missing man near Havelock in Blenheim - Marlborough

    Hi guys,

Im reaching out for a friend. Her cousin Cameron Young aged 37 has gone missing (36 hours now). Hes a keen hunter and fly fisherman.

Heres the info i have been sent.

Our friend/ Brother/ Son -Cameron Young 37, has gone missing near havelock in Blenheim- Marlborough for over 36 hours. He was in a distressed state and police will not put out a search team because of what they say is lack of recourses, even though the terrain he was last near due to a cell phone tower "ping" was in his old hunting/ fishing terrain.

They have notified all units but they are driving around towns and roads where he is clearly not in that area.
He is an avid hunter and fly fisherman and knows the terrain we want to know if anyone has seen him or has seen the missing vehicle and to put pressure on police to send the search and rescue teams. As they are refusing.

This is not in character as he has left his dogs which he never leaves and usually says where he is going.

Vehicle is a silver or champagne colour Toyota Hilux SR5- Rego JJK547

Would like to know anyone that has gone hunting or Fishing with him in this area and therefore may know where he is or anyone that has seen this vehicle.

Contact for police in Blenheim is 03 578 5279

Hopefully, he has just needed what we all often need, a bit of time out in our 'happy place', hoping for a good outcome.

@GWH. Clint, is this the same Cam Young who lived out Matapiro way?

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Bummer. I hunted with him a few times and worked along side him at a few HB wineries. He’s a good stainless pipe welder. Hoping for a good outcome

He's been found, sounds like he's having some time out up here in the Hawkes bay. Moral of the story, tell someone what you are doing.
