    Red stag

    Hey team,

I was out hunting on Saturday, and saw a bloody good 10-12 stag, had 3 on each top but could be sure if he was missing his beys. I didn't have enough time to close the gap with daylight running out. I'm hoping to get back there as soon as possible to try and put him on the deck. Biggest stag I've seen, head and body wise.

I know there's no specific dates, when do red stags start to drop there antlers?

    Thanks for your help
    Cheers
    Bevan

September, the bigger head stags will cast first normally.

Around this area I have seen bald stags in early August but they are generally the older stags that drop early, by the end of September they will be well into it .

Wild stag was roaring 4 days ago while waiting for helicopter in South Westland.
Latest I have heard of one over here.
He might cast a bit later than normal
