Yes if the uppers are in good nick...if you're still in Gore (as per your profile) PM this fella @45SOUTH, he's in Ranfurly and will point you in the right direction. We've had two pair done.

Anyone have a contact number for them?
Cheers :)
There is a Cobbler in Whangarei that is putting new Vibram soles on my Meindls for $80. Should be ready in a week so will be interesting to see how well they go.
Hey @Savage1 how did the resole job worked?
Haven't used them a lot yet but appear to be doing quite well
I had a pair done in Hamilton by quality shoe repair. THey did a good job.
I can recommend Perrits in Ashburton to. Had a pair of Miendl's done just before Xmas. Excellent work.
What is it with you pack of fux? You're "ALL" too quick to boast about getting your boots resoled, and yet, when a man asks a genuine honest question like, have you got a phone number for this, so called 'Perritts Shoe Repairs' I hear all your ass holes "shut with a bang!" When I Google it, I get a very adumbrated advert come up (with a false phone number) even wanting 'ME' to lay claim to owning the business :wtfsmilie: (without the smile)!!! And when I attempt to dial 911 directory, they say there's no such eff'n thing come up in Ashburton, there's only two shoe businesses come up and 'Perritts' ain't one of them! I mean, do they really exist, and have you guys got numbers for them or just got your hands on it???
interesting
Well there is only one shoe repair place in Ashburton, but knowing Alan (even though it was 20 years ago when I was last living there) I am not sure you would get on with him very well with an attitude like that.
@Mathias might be able to help you with a phone number if he is so inclined
I'm pretty sure Allan Perritt runs a very lean tidy little business and does not have a phone in the shop. You can get his number/contact details by asking Staeger Sports, or you can drive to Ashburton and see hime, he's on Burnett St, right in town. And if you want your boots resoled, then its worth the effort because he is very good at his job!
Husky 1600 is spot on. Alan runs a small operation with old world skills. No landline, no eftpos so pay in cash. He'll charge you for attitude as he doesnt suffer fools very well either. Known Alan for 30+ yrs.

Thank you Husky and you other fella's for your comments, just a shame it had to take some 'attitude' to get a result... well, sort of! I can assure you, Allan and I will get on perfectly fine, provided he does his job properly! ;)
Just had a pair of Meindl's resoled by The Shoe Repair Shop in Te Awamutu, cost $120. Looks good but time will tell.
I changed to a trail running type shoe instead, I find the grip a lot better and a lot less weight to carry around. My resoled boots just get used around the section
He does a good job but beware every pair I know of that were done made them 1/2 a size smaller and reduced toe room. A mate got 2 pairs done and had to sell them to get a new pair as they no longer fit.
I sold a Brand New pair of boots a few weeks ago - yes Brand new
Soles peeled off and inner between Vibam and the part you stand on was crumbled black cottage cheese - after 1 day's use
Go figure ??
As discussed on here b4 - its to do with storage and lack of use - but - I think this system/design sucks as you have no idea or indication that this MAJOR fault accurs until its peeling like a ripe orange
I have sold near on (maybe more than) 100 pairs of used boots out of East Europe in last 12 months - and have had 6 or 7 that failed in this manner - so not major bad - but still a piss off and embarrasment to me.
Have always made total refund but !!
Next :-))
Were those boots Lowa per chance Sarvo. My Lowas were cherished for years but the vibram sole began to peel. Local ‘Dr Shoe’ and I had a real headbang session ending with him telling me to “get the fuck outta my shop!” I have since had the sole glued and will keep boots for lawn mowing. Excellent uppers, ultra comfy, but the soles were disappointing.
Thanks for the updates everyone. I spoke to McGregors in Chch about my Meindl Island boots and they said they couldn't resole those - "The problem is getting the replacement mid sole outsole. While I can get a few Vibram soles , which you can see on my FB page, your ones are made for that boot and repairers cannot obtain them." It seems the higher quality boots (and price tag) might not be fit for my purpose or sporadic use. Cheers
My cobbler told me about ‘hydrolysis’ and refused to replaced the mid sole, told me it couldn’t be done. I have since thrown away two pairs of second hand boots.
Strange world - I can see how the term ‘fake news’ developed I’m going to propose we add the term ‘fake facts’!
😀
Well 'Cobblers' to any useless boot maker who says 'it couldn't be done'
I had the mid-soles replaced on a pair of old Lowas in Rangiora. The cobbler removed the crumbly midsole and shaped a piece of thick soft rubber to fit and give the correct angle etc then reused the original sole which was a factory Lowa not a Vibram. A lot of work boots have a flexible PU (polyurethane) sole and this will fail and fall to bits if the mold temp has been too low when they were made, meaning the plastic granules have not fully melted and bonded to each other. Any boots that fail after little use should be replaced under the Consumer Protection Act as they are 'not suitable for the purpose for which they were intended' etc etc
