Hi @Frogfeatures. Yep, it's a good spot. @homebrew.357, I' from Auckland, too, and yes, it's a bit of a trip. I go via Taupo onto Napier-Taupo Rd. About 2-3 kms (I Think) past Te Pohue, Glengarry Rd on your right, to Puketitiri, Bear left onto Whittle Rd, which will take you past Little's Clearing.
