I find your own senses are better than using technology, you may hear the smallest of noise with electronic stuff but it takes away the sense of smell and feel that something is near

    I hear ya
As I said - I will try them out
They wont be over my nose though

But I will ask you this
how many times have we given a Roar/Roars - been sitting or knelling down - then gone to move and - CRASHHHH
The bugger has snuck in (as the always do) and even given the fact I have actually good hearing still - havn't heard him even at 15m
These muffs will - I am certain on that

Blow flies are a bastard though - like b52 going past

I will also be spending some time bush hunting with muffs on this year, with the 30-30 trapper. Mine are MSA sordins and I can hear deer chewing grass 50 odd metres away

My trapper is my number one rifle for bush hunting. I have the muffs but haven't tried them hunting yet. I spooked 5 deer on my last hunt, maybe with the muffs I would have heard them first...

42.5 grains of AR2208 is looking good at the range for me, I haven't worked out max load yet, and I'm yet to see how the ELD-X performs on deer.

Also .308, 178gr ELD-X sitting on quite a warm load of AR2208. This year I will be tackling them from further away than normal after knee surgery a few months ago. So have spent a fair few hours practicing with the new hand loads and getting the Tikka and scope into tiptop shape. I watched the big boys for a few hours last week and they are not quite there yet. Warming up but still some time before they kick off.

@Paddy My hearing is shit waay to much unprotected shooting & noisy work place from a young age reckon id trade feel & smell for amplified hearing in the bush any day of the week ,I can watch the feckers browsing on bushes 40 meters away & not hear them that great , bit of background noise not at all just as well im like a cat in the bush (hairy feet) they cant hear me either , stag loads big & heavy beats light & fast anything less than a 308 using 165BT ,s is a recipe for disaster & don't leave home without a decent beard I stopped trimming a month ago back included , wont be grooming till after the first Saturday in may by which time with a bit of luck my fence will be sagging with stag heads & il be surrounded by breasts , Good luck.
