Has anybody used the cableway recently?

According to DOC it’s closed but that’s been for over a year.

At Rocks Ahead hut.

Nothing wrong with it, mate used it a few weeks ago.
Initially one of the doc guys reported it needed some maintenance and they whacked a closed sign on it and taped it off instead.

Same goes for the 3 wire over the Makino. Covered in yellow tape but absolutely fine.

Marvellous stuff, that yellow tape. wrap it around stuff you are responsible for, and then conveniently omit doing anything to it for Kiwi back country users. Ohh, but need another overseas tourist mega hut built to bring in some income, lets fly the builders in and out of the bush every day and build a monstrosity costing millions of $$

Just walked up to Luxmore hut today. A whole bank of gas cookers and 4 flushing toilets with paper supplied
