Rocks Ahead/Kiwi Mouth huts

Hi All

Looking at heading away for a hunt and fish in the next couple of weeks.

Can anyone advise on how navigable the river is for fishing. Can it be crossed to get around for a day's fishing, would one of these huts be better than the other?

Thanks for the reply, river is open until 30 June.

If your fishing your better off at kiwi mouth rather than rocks ahead. Easier river travel.

I walked up a few hours from the Cameron car park about 2 weeks ago. The river is up quite a bit but I would not think it would be too high now and will be dropping with little rain forecast.

The fishing was tough and fish condition was lower than I had hoped for.
