It's pretty cheap for a new book. Will probably get one.
As for a middle ground, maybe it's hunters taking 2 hinds for every stag?
Identify your target beyond all doubt because you never miss (right?) and I'll be missed.

Glad I read this before rushing out to get Roger's new book.
I've got two of his books and I found them interesting and informative
As a new hunter I read a couple of his books with the attitude that there will be one or two good tips to take away. Hopefully I took the right ones.
His first book had a discusion of ambushing deer. Years ago spied a mob of deer on the river which moved up into a gully. Went back with my mate the next night. I climbed the hill with my dogs and walked zig zag back down thru the gully. Boom boom. My mate nailed 2 fat deer on the river flat whilst perched on the face opposite. Silly because those deer were in very good nick. Huge carry out. Stupidly we carried them out whole.
