Poor @Gibbo - Won't have anywhere to shoot when he gets over his Sweeden trip!!!
Bugger!!
Lazy alright, easy as going in there. Shame
Did two winters trapping in there easy country, obviously DOC have money to burn should be done by ground control. I bet they won't use the repellant for the deer.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds
This may well be my first taste of a block that I regularly hunt being 1080'd. Keen to see if my views on it alter.
One thing I am happy (if that's the word) about is that the Otawa block in Te Puke will be ground baited and trapped. There are a lot of Kiwi in there. Funny though I'd sooner trap and ground bait Rotuehu over Otawa, its really shit in places.
Interesting from my experience they mostly ground bait and trap where they are worried about the by-kill (Kea, Kaka etc) especially when it can be seen by trampers/public. Or very close to tracks. Maybe more accurate with a chopper these days?
It will be interesting to see what you find @Gibo you should go for a look within a couple of days of the drop before the pelets/by-kill are cleaned up.
That's 99.99% of politicians despite how much the Press loves or hates them. Dont worry @kiwijames TV3 will tell you who to vote for

2500 hectars is virtually nothing, you have little to worry about(That is if you dont care about the terrifyingly inhumane suffering the animals that die and those that get a sub leathal dose endure) if there is any ajoining private land that holds animals that wont be done, they will quickly repopulate.
We (southerners) had it dropped over 300,000 hectars in ONE national park alone.
Not moaning just a bit of perspective for you North Island fellas.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.
