Interesting from my experience they mostly ground bait and trap where they are worried about the by-kill (Kea, Kaka etc) especially when it can be seen by trampers/public. Or very close to tracks. Maybe more accurate with a chopper these days?
It will be interesting to see what you find @Gibo you should go for a look within a couple of days of the drop before the pelets/by-kill is cleaned up.
Not sure I want any landing near me to be honest. Just had a text from the forest next door to the DOC native, no mention of the drop that started today and they back onto each other.
