Dave your measurement on the above photo is correct at 3&6/8 as it's a primary measurement, as mentioned it's only the final bottom line tally up score you use 3/4 if it applies.
Old trick is to put the head in the freezer until NZDA conference to avoid shrinkage, but I'd imagine Anto would get sick of getting it out all the time to relive the dream

The Fiordland scenery in this second episode of Series 8 was just gobsmackingly beautiful, and it was your camera work that allowed this to be brought into our living rooms, to the extent that for me, watching the hunting became a secondary consideration. Thanks Dave @The Hunters Club!

Its s bloody good thing you are a member of this forum Dave !! Great chat/insight on here. Cheers

Just watched the second episode (sky go) with my son. He spotted Kahn immediately being a keen bow shooter/avid youtube watcher !!

    Personally I loved the bluefin

    Looking forward to part two.

I'm wondering, if you knew you were targeting SBT, why did Jordy only have a pissy little turkey/cod gun?
    superdiver and Quicknock like this.

It must be bloody difficult Dave to set up the cameras etc. before the boys take the kill shots etc.

Its hard enough getting into good position without a cameraman and other distractions to worry about!

Lucky that Chopper Pilot had a rifle with him!

To be fair, we thought we'd only be targeting them with rod and reel. Jordy had so much fishing gear to bring in as it was without carting in a big wooden Tuna gun, but in hindsight it would have been a good idea to bring one along. That being said - Dwane managed to stop his one last year with a similar sized Snapper/Kingi gun, so it's not out of the question! Loading and manipulating those longer guns in the water can be a challenge as well, especially for someone Jordy's size.

Have had two trips down to target SBT since with all the bells and whistles, which you'll be able to see in a future South Seas Spearo episode. Tune in for that one if you want to see a couple of guys stalking Wapiti wearing wetsuits!

I thought that might have been the case. No offense to Jordy, but Dwane is the GOAT, she's not even in the same league (possibly not even playing the same sport) as him.

I'm looking forward to the upcoming episodes of SSS!

Was about to say Dwane is as good as it gets in NZ and has the skills/patience to pull that off. It was like that other spearo chick trying to shoot the BF off greymouth with a 1.1m beuchat roller.
But yeah absolutely fizzing to watch some SSS . Stalking Waps in wetties sounds interesting! Thanks for the great content Dave

It does appear the forum has an issue with repeat comments? Mentioned elsewhere on here, seems to have started a few months ago. Happened to me too when your reply initially does not appear so you 'reply' again. Maybe a bug in the system?

Another good episode. That speargun would work on fish that size just fine as long as the spear tip was sharp. Big trade off between maneuverability and range when trying to track fish like that which are constantly on the move.

I cant stop thinking about last nights episode, I would fancy my chances of catching one of them Blue fin on a stick bait from the rocks from what I saw! That would be the best!

Eating SBT, hot tub, beers, crays, venison. It's about as close as you come to having sex but lasts longer!
