Thread: Safe place for a safe

Wooden stocked rifles might dry out and warp in the short term or split in the long term, the rubbery synthetic stocks (like Howas) won't like it as much either and might go tacky.

Would be a hassle to get firearms in and out of there too.


Someone else might like to weigh in here, but I can't see that it would be wrong to put a standard gunsafe on its side, as long as it is still fixed to floor and wall. You might be able to fit it under a bed.

Thank you for that, wooden stock was my concern. Acces, not so much as it will be my ones a I don't use often, but they will all be wooden stock and may not come out for a year

Echo that nothing wrong with safe lying on side, still fixed to floor and wall, and would pass inspection if worried about that too
