    Satellite Maps

    G'day all,

Looking for a website or somewhere I can find current satellite views of the Ronga's. Want to get an idea of the terrain so I can plot some routes.

    Cheers!

if you use google earth....the coordinates are wams 84??? same as the big dark ones on outside of topo maps...you can change your gps to match it,just remember youve done so if giving co ordinates to someone else.

Have a look on maps past. click on the linz aerial photo series . these photos have great detail and were all taken on a sunny day unlike some of google earth.

WAMS is the best you’ll find. It covers the whole country and has aerial photographs from regional councils not shitty satellite photos that were taken above the clouds. You can look at a number of different layers and see all the publically owned land and property boundaries for every property in the country. Just a note, some public land is not shown.

I’ve worked for councils for 20 years and have had access to all sorts of system, I used WAMS weekly since I found out about it; not just for hunting!

Zoom Earth is pretty good if you just satellite images.
