My training consists of throwing a heap of weight (ammo lead whatever I can find) in my tramping pack and go walking.... Also cutting out all the sugary junk in my diet :oh noes:
when I was getting fit for mountaineering I would go for walks with 20-30 kg of water in plastic bottles in my pack, up and down hills, if I was knackered I would tip a bottle out
