    Scout up Whaka

Planned a little excursion up Whaka this morning hoping for a bit of Stag action.....not to be, not even a peep!!

My mate did manage to get us some meat for the freezer. We spooked the Hind and they bolted off but upon investigation not too far.
Yearling that copped it in the mug from 10m with the 6.5! Standing there looking at us.
Not ideal placement but thats all that was available at that split second he had. Second one in the heart finished the job.
Didnt realise how deep we had ventured until the bash out through the shit, man i hate suplejack!!!

We got it a fair way from that clearing say 1hour slog. Actually zero sign along that track all the way back to the carpark.
Didnt see anyone else either which was good. Im going back to spot x next week so hopefully the Kaimai stags are firing up soon.

Good stuff Gibo! I might head into the Kaimais this Saturday for a day hunt. My mate lives at the end of Whakamarama and I've been in there a few times but haven't had any luck.
