    Seeking advice

Hey guys. I'm a relatively new hunter and in a few days time I'll be heading out to a new spot that I think looks good based on what I'm seeing in the topo maps and on Google earth.

This will also be the first hunt where I will be the "experienced" hunter as I'm introducing a buddy of mine to this wonderful game we play.

The spot we are heading to is bush, gentle slopes, a small valley with both north and south facing slopes with a water source running through the base of the valley.

We won't be getting into that location until about 3pm and we are only there for the evening. And walking back out in the dark.

My question is at that time of day should we hunt up the north facing slope then down the south or the other way around.

Thanks in advance and feel free to drop any other pearls of wisdom you feel will help

let wind direction dictate your direction..take bic lighter in top pocket and use it often to check wind...... SLOW DOWN...... dont forget your torch,a spare set of batteries AND a head lamp each.... find height with most sign and sidle SLOWLY when sign is fresh....SLOW DOWN more.... if you start to stumble you getting fatigued.stop and rest, watching all around as you do..carry on and dont forget to SLOW DOWN.up guts n down spurs.....

    Safety first

    Stay together

Don’t load firearms unless ready to shoot

Plan your walk out using technology or the direction of the water flow in the creek

Put safety first and you will have many decades of hunting ahead of you

I will guy it and carry it out yes. We are heading into the bush from the back of a mates farm so if need be I just have to get it to the farm then drive down to get it
