Was a good stalk too (well I thought I was awesome ) she was in a shit of a spot to get to without getting seen . At that stage I didn't realise she was sick . Truth be told I probably could have run up and blown her over with a feather

Interesting thread....I have never come across a sick deer myself but have shot a couple that were clearly not going to make next winter due to poor condition/no teeth... even salami wasnt good.

The old man reconed he shot a few that had TB back in the day over Marlborough way but truth be told they could have had whatever yours had as at the time TB was the big thing (excuse to 1080) in the public eye so anything that didnt look healthy "had TB"

Nothing's changed mate...I shot a Sika which turned out to have facial eczema. But DoC field officer I described symptoms to immediately insisted it was TB.

DOC don't no crap, I know I worked for them they are morons, politicians puppets nothing more. I argue with them frequently on certain issues with in Hawkes bay
