Thread: Sika hunting

Has anyone hunted around the Mangatarutu hut in the Kawekas? Looking at a fly in trip with Chris Crosse in mid November but am wondering if too early at that altitude for early spring growth. Heaps of North facing bush slopes with clearings. Looks good on Google Earth. Other thought was one of his fly-in blocks in the Ahimanawas. Are these far enough away from road ends to not encounter walk in hunters?
