While tail buck. 50cal muzzle loader 300gr projectile approx. shot high shoulder angled down. ran 120 meters

feel free to continue thread with your shots, cals and distance animal moved after shot etc.

Not to many moved after the shot, makes it a lot easier to find your animals ,well done.

Good stalking skills obviously get you close enough for a one shot kill well done!

I should do a little more explaining.

Head and neck shots are only used when I dont feel I have another option. Ie can only see head or animal has seen me and is facing toward me.

Behind shoulder I dont use. Except if it's open country and I have a very lite projectile.

Mid shoulder gets used if I dont have much time/A good rest or animal is smaller etc, as it gives me the most room for error. It could also be described as "aim for the big bit!"

Forward and high shoulder are my preferred shots if I have the rest and feel I can take them.
I feel the bullet weight and velocity on such shots will generally drop the animal and it will die before it can recover.

My explanation for that not happening on the muzzle loader is lack of velocity.

Is this every shot you tried or did any get away ?
It looks as if you used the right gun and the right shot for each situation.

As Ryan pointed out some of them are not me. But i was involved on all of them. Ive missed two animals in that time. One a running stag at 100 meters that paused just as I let the shot off. And a bull tahr where Im misunderstood the range my friend was giving me on the rangefinder and shot over him. One of the risks of high shoulder.

I forgot too add too and too late to edit. there were other animals killed, but I either dont have photos, or I cant clearly remember enough details to make it useable for this thread and purpose.
