    Snowy Gorge Hut Ahuriri

Was thinking about heading up Snowy Gorge this weekend because I've never been there before. It looks pretty open and from the research Ive done animal numbers seem to be very low. Am tossing up weather I should even take a rifle or just go for a look.
Has anyone ever hunted up there? If so I'd be interested to hear if you had any luck or saw any animals, or even if there was any sign around.
Happy if you'd rather pm me.
    Cheers

I have looked at it on the map a number of times, I would also be interested to know more about this area

Yeah looks like a pretty cool spot, keen to have a look although the river might be up a bit by the weekend

I spent a week up there monitoring possums a few years back. Great wee spot, hut was a bit hard to find then, and a bit rundown. I never saw a single animal for the week, and I was looking! Bugger all possums too. Have heard of a couple of different parties that have hunted it lately with very little success. Still a nice spot to go for a walk though.

Cheers fellas, those were the sort of replies I was expecting. Might still go if the river hasn't swollen too much, otherwise head further up the valley somewhere

I shot a chamois in that area a few years back but I'm sure I just got lucky as I did an overnight trip in there and saw zero other animals but then spotted this chamois in an area I had already been through and I guess he was just on the move passing through
