    Spot x

I have been playing with 65 pound bow for a while and I want to get in to bow hunting.
I have some questions to ask to professional hunter in this forum.
Is spot x for hunting has good information on where to hunt in Waikato area?
    Is the information spot on?
If you guys could give me some tips where to go around waikato area, or take me with you when you go hunting, it will be really nice
I will be wait for some good responses
    Cheers

Spot x book is a guide on where to start and where to get access to places the animals can be found. It will never be perfect and tell you where to walk and the animal numbers will change from year to year and season to season.
The rest will be up to you to find your own clearings/ gully's / spurs etc where they will hang out.
I have a mate that spent 3 years hunting with a bow before he got his first deer with it and this was with a lot of effort and time put in. You will have to do the same.... It will taste so much sweeter when you finally get one.
A good hunter has learned from his own mistakes and learned from experience which you should enjoy the journey to.
You are approaching this the correct way but no one will just hand out there good spots so spot x would be a good investment.
Hope you enjoy your hunting and good luck

Thank you Twoshotkill for your advise.
I am intending to spend my time to my own spot, easy way might not be the best way
I have another thing to ask.
Is camoflage clothing necessary or can I just wear something like green colour top and pants?
I don't want to spend whole lot of money on clothing unless is necessary.

What are you hoping to nab with your bow mate? Have you had a look on the doc website around the Waikato area? The Kaimais is handy enough but you would need a few bush skills first as its a bit thick and its easy to get disorientated.
Reading a couple of books on hunting wouldn't hurt either.

    Deer and goats
I don't like pork so I wouldn't even shoot at them even if there are hundreds of them right infront of me.
I have done some research in the internet but I guess buying some proper hunting books will help me more.
I haven't got any bush skills so that is what I am worried about.
I will just go to kaimai on this friday or sunday and have a walk to see what it is like there.
Also I will ask for some advise from some archery club members.
Thank you Gibo for all your good responses!

    Kaimai has Waitawheta River.
I might take my fly fishing gears there and fish for some trout while I look for deer signs!

One more bit of advise if i can mate, don't go off the track in the Kaimais if you don't have navigating gear or skills. We want to hear about your first success with your bow, not that you have gone missing
Start slow and start at the basics
