Yep, that's a decent stream to cross. The old tramway clearings are well worth a look along. For hunting that area a compass is all you need as you will only be venturing either East or West and that is simple enough to get back to the track. If you go in off Old Kaimai Road you will cut out a fair bit of the track from the summit.Quote:

Like I said , north south track is a good place too start , but don't get too carried away till your confident using a compass too get back too where you started . Your either going too head east or west too return too the track so its not rocket science , just don't panic and leave yourself plenty of time too return.
Spook has a good point about wounding critters with the bow , perhaps you just spend some time in there with a camera until you start finding some good country .
The archery club sounds good , but the nearest bow hunters club would be a better idea.
