Thread: Stag do idears

Hi all
looking to have a stag do in spring and we were looking to do one of the josh James raft trips but it looks a bit expensive for us it's around $1000 pp for 10 people.

So thinking about other options were not big piss heads just looking for a good few days away fishing or hunting with a few beers on the last night.

Are there any high country stations that hire out huts close to doc land that you can 4wd into?

Open to all ideas at this stage

Could find someone with a raft and do the clarance. Might get 4wd access into quail flat or go into molesworth. Just don't dress the groom up with real antlers and go into Queenstown, they are classified as dangerous weapons...

Haha, how hard is it to raft the clarance? I have heard that you can hire a raft from Clarence rafts but you need experience

The old man went down it last year, grade 2+ I think. If no one in the group has experience probably not such a good idea.

Fishing charter out of Kaikoura? Not much on stag do's never been to one, not even my own.

I have a buddy who got himself in a situation that sounds pretty similar, she was in hospital for the night after a simple surgery and he thought to himself he may as well make the most of a night in the city. Silly bugger should learn how to use an atm....

Plenty of options, pick a destination and date and do it.
I had mine in a forestry camp in/near port underwood...fishing,pigs and goats.
My best mate had his in a woolshed near Kahurangi, farking big sand dunes and dirt bikes with paddle tires.

My advice is make it 2plus days 3 or4 is best.

Have a few down on the island, fishing, hunting and a few locals propping of the bar to annoy!

rent red deer lodge at lake rotoiti - look up nelson nzda for details, hunting and fishing close by

Or palmer lodge up lewis pass, just let me get up there for a chamoi before you steal them all!
