Mopheadrob and I faced some very difficult blustery NW conditions over Sat and Sunday on MT Oxford faces Doc. Stags roaring well but no constant wind direction. On Sunday we dropped down to a creek where three stags were exchanging roars but a puff of wind upstream betrayed us. It then changed to SW so as a last try we dropped packs and headed uphill to a bit of tussock roaring with the horn. Next thing it's pouring down and we were soaked, but we thought we heard a couple of grunts on a very steep scrub face. After a few more roars from us, a roar from the stag and we saw him appear on the tussock through the rain with two hinds head back roaring angrily. 308 metres in the neck with the 270 rolled himAttachment 220207
