My first roaring sika, pretty young animal but will make good salami. Next time will be looking for a better set of head gear. Awesome experience, stags going nuts round camp overnight.
It took all roar to get a stag. 26 April and he roared and had a hind.

its been a strange roar eh Hamish. 2 days ago (26th) I saw a stag (a poor head) herding 6 hinds and yearlings. It's pretty late for that.
This fella got the slip on me earlier in the month, Tracked him down last Saturday, wasn't so lucky this time.

And my PB sika. 30"wide & 28.5" long 10 pointer (two snags coming off the brow tines)(His skull is 10" long for reference).
I saw his massive rub tree a week before so new to target his spur. Luckily I caught him out just above the bush edge of his spur on last light.

A weak top on one side and well over spread will really penalise his score, but either way I'm stoked as he is by far the largest sika head I've seen on the hill!

Unfortunately couldn’t find a good sika this roar, but had a half day hunt yesterday morning out Clements into a new area I’ve been learning recently and found this guy wandering around below me in some crown fern so took the opportunity to take a clements road stag after a couple last weekend outsmarted me.
