It’s how Tahr is spelt in some areas of the Himalayas also how it used to be spelt in NZ when it was first introduced.
The word "tahr" is derived from the Nepali word thār and was first used in English writings in 1835.
The common name of H. jemlahicus varies considerably, including Tehr, Tahir, Jharal, Jehr, Jula Kras and Thar or Tahr. Although Riney (1955) and Anderson and Henderson (1961) use the name ‘Thar’ most authors refer to it as the Himalayan Tahr or just Tahr (Lydekker, 1913; Wodzicki, 1950; Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951; Bourliére, 1955).

    And where on the board.
Shot by @tikka sorry but it need to be stuck up here seeing as it looks to be the first one posted for this year.

quoted "Last week we got onto this stag 500m from camp the dog was very impatient waiting for me to pack to gear up and finish my morning coffee.

Deer number 207 the wanted to carry on hunting as he could smell more farther up the valley but 30+ degree days is hard yakka humping meat. We bombed up 9 more goats on the walk out".
