incendiary/ armour piercing etc no way ( thanks to stalinda)
i had no issues with fmj/ soft point etc
Yea was just gonna get him to bring a few box's of stuff we can't get here atm
His luggage will be opened after check-in and an inspection card left in it but all should be sweet (unless he goes for industrial quantities). I've done it heaps of times.
Prob looking at bringing 500 projectiles in
As everyone has said, it's easy enough at this end.
For many years, I've done my bit to try to normalise the carriage of firearms and ammunition as checked baggage on international flights. Some airlines are more cooperative than others. Sometimes it's great fun, other times, a bit more hassle than absolutely necessary. Explaining what components are can be hard work.
My most recent experience, just this week, has been frustrating. I've got a couple thousand primers which I though would come in handy at the local lead lobbing lanes.
After an initial refusal, one airline acquiesced when shown the relevant part of their own website. Sweet! Just like the old days.
My connecting flight with another airline though was no go despite multiple calls, indeterminable lengths of time on hold and trying everything to reason with them.
novembersierra: I'd like authorisation to travel with projectiles and primers please
Airline: What are projectiles? Are they explosive?
novembersierra: No! They're not explosive! They're pieces of lead!
Airline: What calibre are they?
novembersierra: Thirty calibre
Airline: Thirty calibre! The largest we are permitted to carry is nine millimetre. Thirty calibre must be very dangerous!
novembersierra: WTF!!! No No No, you don't understand. They're actually seven point six two millimetre
Airline: Oh, OK then. Are you sure they're not explosive?
novembersierra: They're not explosive. And the primers?
Airline: What are primers? Are they explosive?
novembersierra: No they're not explosive. Blah, blah blah.
So you can see this was going nowhere fast. In the end I just noped out.
