My limited knowledge of deer leads me to believe Hinds don't come running towards a roar and tend to ignore them as such thus it is a strong possibility that it is a stag. (or in this case a person) Until you identify it completely, however, probability ant truth are not always related. I had amate in a situation not quite like this. He was stalking a stag and heard what he thought was a roar, then heard something coming towards him at a rate of knots. He was eyes up looking for a stag when his feet were nearly taken from under him by a small ish boar fleeing from something (the possibility it was flushed by another hunter was his first thought...) While he never saw another person then, he was now aware the possibility of another hunter was stronger than it was earlier...In truth there is always the chance of another hunter.
Identify your target, and dont forget check firing zone.
