    Stewart island little hellfire hunting

A couple of us are heading to the little hellfire block for hunting
Never been there. Was wondering if there are lads out there that have and can offer some advice on how to hunt the block

That's what I've been doing wrong! No idea about hellfire but white tail in general, find a good possies looking into the wind and wait for it to go dark

Bow hunted Long Harry and East Ruggedy in the mid 80s. Find a Broadleaf, pull off a few leaves, not a branch, watch it until dark.If nothing,be back before daylight. They might feed after dark so check the bait.
Real guns start with the number 3 or bigger and make two holes, one in and one out

Went there a few year ago. Didn't know what I was doing then (still don't really) but patience is the best tactic once you find a spot. Only ones we saw were eyes in the headlights on the way back to bivy, or flashs of white arse as they disappeared into the scrub
Working on getting back down sometime soon I hope. Was going last year, but everyone bailed
    Good luck
By the way, the kiwis give you the shits when they start squawking in the middle of the night, right next to your ears
