So the long and the short of it is, I've still not shot a deer. I've been out at least twice a month since March. Mostly down Turangi ways after Sika, but also Gizzy and the Tararua's. I've been lucky enough to be under the wing of a couple of experienced hunters who have been nothing short of awesome(although they always get them when I'm not there). I've camped out in the snow, met some great people, seen my first deer in the wild and almost shot a pig. Its all been heaps of fun. Found new spots and place's I'll be going back to. Endless hours on the google web looking for "new places" or places I've heard about. I would like to get one soon. Maybe before the years out.......but I'm not too fazed.

Because I know all this will eventually result in me bagging my first deer. All the hard yards will, at sometime, come to fruition. And when it does happen, I'm going to be one pretty chuffed 35yr old, semi balding, ex vegetarian, builder/ spearfisherman/ surfer.......... Yeeeaaah
