    Swing Bridge at Waikaia

    Hi Everyone

    Just wondering if anyone knows the status of Swing bridge at Piano flat..

    Any info appreciated.

    Haven't been up here in a few years but all fine when I was there last, haven't heard any rumours about them being out. Quick ring to doc in Invercargill should get you an update

    I had heard they were pretty badly damaged during recent floods.

    I have contacted DOC and will post an update after I have clarification form them this avo.

    was up there two weeks ago, the main one at the camping was good to go and the one upstream is about 10 meters above the river, so i don,t think there will be any damage there. they have graded the road all the way past christies hut, i only went about a km past there but the deep 4x4 ruts( at the gate they lock) have all gone. but i would hate to drive it after rain as it is mainly clay.
