Heading down that way for a few days so will sort out a look. Looks ok on maps but agree security would be an issue, build a hut and come back to a pile of rubble type scene.

Block looks to be quite close to SH and easily accessed by all

Hmmm!

Put it this way, if you lost a T3 bolt there, won't take much to find it
The block indicated by the address given is only quarter of an acre and seems to be on the wrong side of SH5 and does not resemble the photos on the TM page. I reckon it must be another land packet across the way that is for sale

Says $85K on the real estate sign. Also says great hunting
Not bad if your looking for a place to park a caravan or small portacom to go off and hunt during the day
That Looks like its close to the little settlement at Tarawera where the pub is, going into the gorge on the road out of Taupo side. If I'm right!
I used to guide flyfishing around here, and as others have said a little local agreement to you being there is key. A little product Koha and keeping the local Marae in good with you is the key with the local Elders being teh ones in my experience who keep the peace or you have a bad experience.
I Always used to drop in a couple of Trout at the Marae every time I was passing and never had a car break in or access issue as a result in the area as my car was known, lots of other guides were the same...(Touch wood!!!)
From distant memory i.e 10 years ago wasn't there a local job creation scheme and Maori land farm around there too? that backed onto the big Stephenson place? - I used to raft the Mohaka with Ricks crew out of Te Haroto and he organised access through CHH forests to put in on the bottom of the Repia to travel down the Mohaka fora couple of days awesome trips!! and full of deer!
Let me know if you decide to go ahead.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Rule 4: Identify your target beyond all doubt

OK bear with me I'm typing this on a phone with sausage fingers.
I know the exact property for sale, and know the immediate area inside out hunting wise. Without going into too much detail, if you were buying this for a place to base yourself for hunting, You would be better putting that 50k into 50 odd chopper rides!
I'd put some reflective eyes up on the other end of the property away from your planned hut
