    Tactical retreat

    Weather forecast say
    12-24 C 12-16 kmh wind

Set out very bravely ms carrying her bit
Walk out set up camp last night , spot 1 nice red , to be getting closer tomorow
Set up fly camp. Go to bed. Ms is there so fun to be had
Wake up clear skies , beuat weather ( 0440)
Get back to spot, looking for deer. Wind sets In 65km/h 0515
No worries prediction is 6-11 I say
Wait it out ms says NO LETS GO
Gets worse temp drops to 5 deg c
Mum says time to go - I say effort= results
    Clouds building
Mum says u fuĺl of it
    I trust metweather
    Bit of rain
    , by now it's about 4 deg c

Rain sets in, old man starts taking photos with a flash
Tree ( if u can call it that )30 m from where are gets hit by lightning
Well back to camp. Broke camp in less than 2 mins

Another hit on some bushes 50 m other side of camp
By now everything is packed. Jogging ( take that old ppl running to get lower altitude)
Another big flash (light and sound less than. .3 sec )

I'm under scrub hit on tree 20m away taking rifle of pack , carry it in hand and the big tree 150m m away splits in next strike
Down ridge in less than 1 hr to car . Took us 5 to get up.

Fk nothing like smell of ozone and the old man taking flash pictures to make u move
Ms with virtually no load diue to back ops well un front by now down the track
Get to car ms " did u see the red , was 500m up the track , why didn't u shoot it"
    Love her to bits.

I haven't been this scared since army days digging in
She's "u should go back and get it"

I'm not ill pay for a hot shower and room.

Love this place , no snakes no toothy, clawy, poisonous creatures, just the weather will kill u

Aah there’s fun to be had in the great outdoors but when electrickery starts shorting from sky to earth the prudent leave the fun to others.

It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Especially when u had a run in with 3phase that took 6 months just to walk again , left with a poxy left hand. Workplace incident - when someone takes a tag and lock off a circuit ...
