    Takapari rd, Ruahines

    Greetings,

    I heard this road may have been closed? Was anyone able to confirm this? Was looking at a trip up there for a picnic with a view, perhaps somewhere near the A frame hut.

    Was the closure temporal or a permanent one?

    And I certainly wouldn't spend 14 days in isolation before going for my picnic
    Although it was a good spin on the DR200 back in summer

    Apparently huts been taken over by iwi and has been refurbished but no longer open to the public?

    Community managed I thought? (Read: DOC have abdicated responsibility and are relying on volunteers....)
