I heard this road may have been closed? Was anyone able to confirm this? Was looking at a trip up there for a picnic with a view, perhaps somewhere near the A frame hut.
Was the closure temporal or a permanent one?

Apparently huts been taken over by iwi and has been refurbished but no longer open to the public?
