Thread: Taking my nephew hunting help..

Hi all long story short..

Nephew has started a new school hes 13 and getting bullied, hes normal a great kid and very out going but due to what is happen is becoming withdrawn.

He keeps bugging me to take him hunting as his dads not a hunter, So as a good uncle I want to take him out and try to get him to open up and take his mind off things.

While his dad is no hunter im no great hunter, more about spending time with my nephew the problem is all my places i go are a 3 hour plus walk in.

While he is fit I think a 3 hour walk in for your first tramp let only hunt from there is a big ask.

Im thinking of walking into whites clearing and staying at the central waiau, how long is the walk in., as ive never been there?

Does anyone know anywhere there is a walk in say 2 1/2 hours max was thinking of somewhere in the ureweras or kaimawas as nephew lives in hamilton.

Was thinking of going in may.

I am not asking for anyones honey whole, more a easy to meduim walk into a hut where we have achance of seeing a deer, this is more about getting my nephew out bonding with him and continue his interest , hopefully life long interst in hunting not break him on his first trip.

Yes yes, but i try not to be a friggin leach to ppl have been good to me in the past, sure way to ruin a friendship. See you in june for your run. Hows the training going.?
