Thread: Tally, how many do you reckon?

Was thinking about it last night after i shot a hare. Was going to take a pic and post it in the pest bowling thread but thought "meh i have posted a few already".

My thought was, how many pests do you think us forum members despatch in a year as a group. It must be a pretty good amount i think, i wonder if it is worth or possible to run a tally of numbers of each pest like rabbits, hares, possums, mallard and parries.

what do you think? perhaps there already is one?

Yup, i only deliberately go to shoot bunnys maybe once a year if that.

At a guess about 15000 rabbits with the guns, but I was a slack arse.

Perazzi's on the ball here! From some of the things some people say on this forum you've gotta wonder if they've ever held a gun before!

There is already a thread somewhere that sees daily action called "What little pesties did you bowl over today" or something like that. That's where people generally put any varminting stuff.

I would hardly call a mallard a pest animal. so far this year I would have shot 60 rabbits though.

I was able to bowl over just shy of 200 rabbits in 3 months while working in Otago, didn't get anything other than goats and turkeys in the north though.

I think it would be very interesting to see some pest tallys
We have been doing some pest control for a developer, I'm not sure of the spreadsheet thingy we use but its on the computer and we just add more info as we have it, easy to use and understand

I have started many times to make a diary for my hunting but always fail to keep it up
I have only recorded the pests off the farm this year for the first time
So many pigs I've caught over the years and haven't had a camera or remembered , mates remind me from time to time... Remember that pig we got at such and such..., ah that's right
