Any one know if tangihua forest is open or closed from Kauai die back cant find it where I looked on their sight cheers nd

I went up there early this year. When I talked to doc they said access is now only through the south end, its a bitch of a walk up the gravel road just to get to the bush entrance and a long way to the hut.

If you're after goats you're probably better off door knocking the surrounding farmland.

Just heard back from doc it's open better getting out there than sitting behind the key board well for me anyway

Has the Tangihua access from the north side been closed??
I know it was across private land pig huners and dogs can be an issue for farmers particularly in spring.
I shoot around the west side and regularly see goats up on the slip faces in the DOC land that I can't access.
Would be a long walk in from either the south or north public access points

The Whangarei doc office were pretty helpful with info and mentioned the place had an abundance of pig and goat. He also said the northern access property has a new owner who isn't keen on people crossing his land, couldn't hurt to ask though.
