Has anyone been here recently via the logging track/river route? Planing a trip there for the first time and in curious what the river is like to walk up?

Its fine knee deep max usually. Takes about an hour from the carpark/end of the road

i hate the pricks that do that. i ran into a couple of guys one day, i asked how they got on and they said they got 5. i asked where they were and they told me they left them there cus they couldnt be bothered carrying them out. bloody disgraceful
It hard to see when you eat everything you shoot.
Anyone done any fly fishing down the Tauanui River?
Unfortunately since its so close to town it does attract the odd meat head
I've seen a few trout up there nothing huge

Able to tell me if it's a decent area to take two young fellas (10 & 8)? I'm taking the family away to Lake Ferry/Ngawi for the weekend in mid November and thought I'd take the lads into Aorangi for a wander. Never been in there though so looking at the best way/place to get in from.
Na shit place to go
..bloody deer everywhere
closer places to ngawi to hunt, check the map. washpool, pararaki, kawakawa and mangatoe hut isnt even that far

Thanks scoped, I'll keep that in mind. It all depends on whether we decide to stay in Ngawi itself or in Lake Ferry... Waiting to hear back from people in Lake Ferry to see if we can use their house.
Anyone been up here recently. I'm thinking of heading up very soon. River level at this time of year, easy to find from the logging track etc. any info appreciated.
Regards
Ash
