    Te Kuiti Area for Goats?

I have never had goat! and on that note would like to try some. I believe the buggers are a little bit silly sometimes and should be easier to bag than say a deer.
So thought i would head down to Te Kuiti. Having a look for some spots but not really knowing the area it is like throwing a needle in the haystack.

Does anyone have suitable areas for parking and bagging goats?

Oh and if anyone wants a little walk through the area then more than happy for them to join me.
    Cheers

Willie there a small pockets of goats all around the king country. Some of it private land, some of it doc. Goats are worth money so some get captured and sold. If on doc land they will get culled. Not as easy as it use to be, but there are still a few about. If u can wait a couple of weeks pm me and we will go for a drive if u keen.

Willie, just call DOC Te Kuiti and the nice lady will point you to the best areas.
On my rellies old farm near Piopio, there used to be hundreds of the stinkies.

Yeah will do Sako, if i fill up this weekend then probably not but for me that would be doubtful ;-). Was looking at heading out on the 7th as well and seeing if i could catch up with Mucko and gong for life. I have hunting pass for Saturday and also for the 7th so something should work out.
Are you one of those "fit" people, if so learn to walk slow

You keen for a trip to Te Kuiti rookie? Have tried Wairere Falls, better known as Bastard Steps, Thompsons Track promising just better known as Bastard loggers (they have to earn a living i get that), so on to Te kuiti we go and apparently the going is easier, do i know, nah i don't. However i do know i plan to be down there for about 6am Saturday morning and I don't tolerate lateness and see what wee buggers are running around and if you are keen then drop me a pm and we can sort something out. Seriously i'm an easy going bugger
Disclaimer, i don't fecking work fast i work smart, i do not run to the top of hills, if you are fitter than me ( you most likely are) you can run up the hill> if that results in animal getting away that's okay however you will be required to provide beer to supplement the lack of protein in the back of the wagon. Otherwise let's go shoot some fecking animals and get some tucker on the table. Oh and i do not know where to hunt in Te Kuiti! The internet told me to hunt somewhere so i thought a wee look would be a good idea!
Keen to join me, i don't say much honestly

Fifty two years ago I had a cousin who owned a farm on Honikiwi Road - just where the road runs into the Pirongia Forest Park - school holidays - I used to get on the train in Palmy at 10pm with my 303 and chuck it up on the luggage shelf - get off at Otarahonga at 7am in the morning
The farm was just being developed and there was about as many goats as there was sheep - until I used up all the bucket of bullets I took with me
My cousin is long gone and his son shifted off the farm a year or so back
Do a bit of research and see if you can find who owns that last farm before the bush - or check out how you can access the Forest Park - it was full of old tracks and full of goats - you can see it on Google maps
After a week when I was finished - back on the train - chuck the 303 and a couple of smelly heads on the luggage rack and back to Palmy - and back to school
Those were the days - a stinky tail was worth three rounds from NZFS as well

Looks like this weekends plans have changed. i can live with it but does mean i am heading out next Saturday early doors.
Plan to be in Te Kuiti about 5/6 am. Depending on the hunting and sign will depict when to head back to Hamilton.
Happy to work in with people as the target species has not changed, still goat but think the early doors will open more opportunities (read as luck )

Cheers and enjoy your long weekend.

This may change very short notice depending how work goes tomorrow! Chur

now now @Gibo if it wasnt for the millions eating canned tuna they wouldnt be out there. plus what the inshore boats catch in a season around new zealand. the super seiners catch in a week. also when they unload theres a mean burly trail with some monsters lurking below. snaps trevs and kings.
