    Te Tahui block B

Have scored myself a permit for Te Tahui block B at Te Miro for this weekend. Never been so will be a interesting little mission. Dont want any of your secret spots but if anyone has been in there whats the best way to go about hopefully seeing something? Cover ground until i find sign then quiet down and follow the trail , stalk the whole time...

    Any help much appreciated
    Cheers Josh

Yep, a long time ago though and the bush was and probably still is very noisy underfoot. Wear dive shoes or foot wear like that. Not a huge population of deer in there and the farmers tend to be a tend on the towey side. Fallow seem to stick very close to the farm boundaries out there

Yea very noisey bush. Best bet is to try walk the bush edged next to the farms. Maybe find a good open area and sit for an hour and look and listen. Deer numbers are quite low.

Never been into B block, Maybe next year ?
Bush very noisey in A block an te miro, B block prob the same. Ya could where 2 pairs of socks while stalking, Keeps noise right down an feet stay warm enough.
Bush is similar to Kaimai, Up down rolling and thick in places bloody supple jack.
If you go into te miro anytime I can show ya on a map where to head, That crap is thick straight off the road ! But opens up out back.
Plenty of peacocks in te miro to !
Fallow love the grass, Farmers love the Fallow and dislike the hunters .... Deer population is low through out (in the bush anyway) but have been told of good size mobs roaming farms between A block, te miro and water works road. Up to 20 seen at a time ! wtf.
Being your first time in there I reckon just cover ground fast and get a good look around, If sign is to good an wind is right then whip ya boots off an stalk.
    Good luck.

    Cheers @BushHunter
Taking the old man so well see how far we get but should be good non the less to have a look around. had a look on Google earth doesn't appear to have any obvious clearings or spots that look like a must see spot so will just cover ground and see if we get onto a trail or sign.
Getting impatient now to see my first deer. ahh one day

Went in on sunday but didnt get there till about 12 thanks to farm jobs. Walked a couple hours. Saw plenty of areas that looked promising, grassy clearings in the bush but they hadnt been touched. No deer sign at all, was a bit wierd. Mission trynna stay quiet, dead leaves and supple jack everywhere
