google the tahr feral range then pick anywhere within that and climb. theres a lot of tahr around you just need to work hard to get them. you might find the occasional easy one or two. i head up towards mt cook usually anywhere up there is good so long as you stay outside mt cook national park as the cull the crap out of it. theres still tahr in there just far fewer. let me know if you ever want a tag along on your trips. i live in wanaka.
