The things you see when you don't have a gun

Don't know what it was about today, but it seemed to be a day that I should have taken the rifle in the ute out to the farm, seemed every time I turned around there was something that I would have dropped the hammer on, if only I had a rifle.

3 cats just sauntering through the rolly polly on the side of a couple of tracks, no more than 50 or 60 m away when first sighted, two of the bastards sat down and watched me drive past no more than 20 m away, the other scampered up a tree and sat in a fork licking its arse.

A small mob of pigs that have been bludging some of the sheep pellets, couple of sows and 8 or 10 youngsters, the younguns would have gone about 10kg dressed.

Four foxes that I disturbed out of the rolly polly as I was driving the sheep through a bit of a dry swamp.

And please don't get me started on the bloody crows that were seemingly perched on every fence post or tree stump I went past.

Fuck I hate those kind of days when you are stuck at work.

There were a few rogueish sheep that could have done with a bullet or two as well.

One of those days I guess, what have you others seen or had days like that ??

Size: 2.09 MB these 4 the other week while at work. The 3 spikers just stood there at 20m looking at me then the 1 antlers stag came over the hill and they all took off around the corner and stopped for a geez at me while I took a couple of pics

Flaming heck Kamel, you need 4 guns with you, a .22 for the cats, 12gage with buck shot for the piggies, .223 to knock over the foxes and crows. Then you just need to grab the old .303 for the flaming sheep. Better start fixing 4 gun racks in the ute.

I have seen several deer on the farm the past couple of months, always when I have no rifle with me, one silly spiker I have seen quite a few times, including once at about 11am in the morning way out in the open far away from any kind of cover, the couple of times I have decided to actually take the rifle for a walk I never come across anything!

I saw one of these when I didn't have rifle handy, but I worked out later that it was just my medication being out of whack.
