I agree with everything posted by Pointer he/she was spot on.
Hunting is relaxing just like Yoga except I get to kill something.

I loved it. I don’t think you could have portrayed it any more ‘real’ than what we saw. A real credit to Owen for having the desire and motivation to share his passion with others.

I enjoyed it. Typical Tuhoe humour (Uncle Maui I think it was).

I've made shots like that, not many, but I have. The world didn't stop spinning!

Personally I would have drilled the second deer in the swede when it was on the riverbed too, but thats because I'm a greedy bugger and I dont like them getting back up. It is what it is, and it doesn't take away from the show.

Reading over at the other pub it seems the guy has taken on board feedback about the two kills and how they were portrayed, He claims to have had no control over the editing of the released episode but took it upon himself to fly down and visit the editors in person to relay feedback he had received - similar to what guys are saying here.

Top notch thing to do. I look forward to more of his episodes.

Just finished reading that thread too. Good to see him responding well to criticism & taking feedback on board. He's got a great attitude, & I look forward to seeing more from him!

Interesting disclaimer / warning at start "this program may include . . . scenes of violence to animals . . "

Does that imply that we are committing an act violence when we go hunting . . . Or is this just another example of PC on steroids ?

Filmed with more discretion than when Howie Morrison did the same on Hunting Aotearoa where the dogs mauled a deer in a stream/creek

A warning like that is so that the majority of people in our society who have all lost touch with reality by having become over politically corrected can be warned of the need to avert their sensitive eyes from being offended by seeing the apex predator man causing the death of an animal for food through the deployment and use of subservient predators and in so doing cause blood to be seen. Or in plain speak "it is bullshit"!

Or the warnings are so the mamby pamby politically correct do-gooders know what to watch and start screaming cruelty ban hunting. Hunting is cruel 7 hours bush yesterday saw zilch, nothing, jack shit, no signs and that is cruel. Probably due to the guy who was in the carpark to see if his lost pig dog had come back. Hunting / fishing shows generally are a hard watch. Today we are going after (fill in the blank) oh look theirs one. I will give this show a watch.
