you have to join tokoroa NZDA to gain access to the pines for deer hunting and you have to be a member for 3 - 5 years before they even consider letting you have a permit to hunt and then it is balloted for certain dates that you will be allocated. for pig hunting you need to be a member of tokoroa pig hunting club and there is no stand down period to gain access just don't get caught with a deer on a pig permit outside of their deer season or you will never be allowed back in there.
